Generous quantities of fresh, immaculate and well-judged canapés arrived as promised, turning a drama into a drinks party. Every last one went and they prompted many compliments, especially for the wonderfully rare roast beef which even a hitherto vegetarian guest couldn’t resist. Everyone went home thinking I have a touch of Nigella about me, when the truth is I am just fortunate enough to know Sam’s number." |
