Harden's 2010 guide names Sam's of Brighton as one of the top 5 new restaurants in the UK!!

We are bursting with pride to hear this week that Sam's of Brighton is one of 4 restaurants awarded runner up in Hardens 2010 survey of the best up-and-coming restaurants in the UK.

Harden's annual survey results have this week been published in their 2010 Restaurant Guide. This major survey highlights the best up-and-coming restaurants across the UK. This year's winner was Edinburgh restaurant 'Wedgewood'.....and our Sam's of Brighton was one of 4 restaurants awarded runner up in this category. This makes Sam's (according to Harden's!) one of the top 5 new restaurants in the UK!! Wow!! This is also great news for Sevendials Restaurant as Head Chef Mark Kinzel has recently taken up the helm at Sevendials after a very impressive first year at Sam's. Thank you all for your great support and keep sending those reviews off when you have eaten with us - as they really do count for something! Wine Wednesdays - BYO wine for only £5 corkage per bottle!

Sevendials Restaurant and Sam's of Brighton offer wine enthusiasts the chance to dust off a bottle from their cellar and bring it into the restaurant to enjoy with our great food!

'Wine Wednesday's' are available at Sevendials Restaurant and Sam's of Brighton for evening dining on Wednesday evenings only.  Diners must order from the a la carte menu and there will be a £5 corkage fee per 75cl bottle of wine.

Sevendials Restaurant and Sam's of Brighton offer an 'Open Kitchen Experience' cooking workshop throughout the year.
Courses run: Tuesday – Saturday from 9.30am.
(Maximum 2 persons Tues-Fri, 1 person on Sat)

Spend 2 hours "behind the scenes" in the busy kitchen's of Sevendials Restaurant and Sam's of Brighton.  Start your day at 9:30am and you will be given your chef whites and apron and will set straight to work assisting with making the bread for the day.  Your morning will involve a variety of vegetable and meat prep as the chefs prepare food for the day's service.  Our menu changes daily and we have daily deliveries of fresh produce so be prepared to get stuck into any number of tasks!  At the end of a busy morning you will be welcomed over to the other side of the pass where you can enjoy the fruits of your labour and indulge in a three course lunch from our a la carte menu and well earned glass of champagne!

"My husband and I received a gift voucher for the Open Kitchen Experience at Sam's of Brighton restaurant in Brighton - mentioned in our Cheap Seats feature Jan09.  This is not a traditional cookery course, but a chance to see what goes on in a buzzing restaurant kitchen.  The morning was very hands-on.  We helped to make bread and hollandaise sauce for that day's service and were also put to work prepping veg.  Chef-patron Sam Metcalfe was friendly, informative and entertaining.  It was fascinating to learn about how he puts together a menu, deals with suppliers and works with his team to get dishes out on time and tasting fantastic.  As the lunch time service picked up, we observed the kitchen at work before heading upstairs to the restaurant for a delicious lunch.  At £50 per person including a three course lunch, this is incredibly good value"
